Challenge 48 – Send e-mail updates to customers every month for 12 consecutive months.

I waited so long on this that I no longer sell Mary Kay, now I need to set a goal of contacting Creative Memories customers! Sigh. Anyway, need to keep in contact with people, blah blah blah, am I picking up on a theme here? I guess the self reflection is what this is supposed to be about. Read the rest of this entry »

Challenge 38 – Attend church 3 times per month for 6 consecutive months.

Building a habit is what it’s all about. Have I mentioned that? And if you are (or are not currently) a churchgoer, you know what I mean. It’s hard to start rolling yourself out of bed early on a Sunday when you just plain don’t have to. Read the rest of this entry »

Challenge 33 – Meditate for 10 minutes per day for 30 consecutive days.

Every week, I write on my daily “Sharpen the Saw” goals that I am going to meditate for 10 minutes per day. Guess what? I have yet to actual do it. Maybe…once a month it happens? Okay, I guess I’m being a little hard on myself there – I don’t think it has to be actual hardcore, focused meditation to count. For me, all I need is a few minutes of peace and quiet, where I can reflect and relax without my brain running a million miles an hour. Read the rest of this entry »

Challenge 22 – Keep a daily mood journal for 12 consecutive months.

Keeping a mood journal to track my daily moods – and link them to important life events – is something that has always been enlightening for me. The problem is sticking with it. Fortunately for moi, I have a whole online emotional health and well-being program, provided by my employer Goodrich (also known as Greatrich, and yes I stole that from someone else). Since the tracking journal is built in to the wellness program, and I can do it right here at work every day, I really have no excuse not to keep it updated.

Challenge 86 – Keep a photo blog and update at least weekly.

Journaling is supposed to help with my emotional well-being (according to MyGoodHealth.com, and they give me a $100 annual payroll credit to give a crap). So, why not blog? It combines keeping in touch with my friends, with journaling, with photos, some creativity, writing…sounds perfect, right? Just gotta make the time to get it done.

Challenge 85 – Publish monthly photo updates.

Yes, originally, I set this goal to publish quarterly updates. But the fact of the matter is, the more frequently I do it, the better the chances I will keep up with it! And with our family situation, with the kids’ dad in Germany, it is only fair to be sending out pictures of the kids as often as possible. If I put it off it just makes for way more to sort through later.

Challenge 14 – Send 2 birthday cards per month to family or friends.

I think sometimes my problem with friendships/relationships/etc is that I tend to become oblivious to what is going on around me. Just like anything else, the social thing comes naturally to other people, and not so naturally to others. Despite the fact that I LOVE to hear myself talk I’m just not really an extrovert. I have to concentrate to remember to think of others. This challenge will (theoretically) help me pay attention and appreciate those important people in my life — and make it a habit to continue into the future.
